The whole set is built like a Chinese ink painting: the twelve designs are not characters but twelve parts of one landscape — forest, moss, bamboo, snow, wind, a bridge, the moon, a root, a valley. The palette is almost nothing but ink black, white and a little moss green, with hair and robes dissolving into brushstrokes. 8cm; regular figures pull at 1 in 12, the secret The Plum Blossom at 1 in 144.
