How many Labubu series are there? I counted every single one (plus which secrets go easy on you)
Every Labubu set in the catalogue, counted: how fast they drop, figures versus bag charms, which secrets are kind, which are cruel, and what a newbie should actually collect.
You open the Pop Mart site, type "Labubu", scroll for a while, and can't find a single set with Labubu in the name.
You didn't spell it wrong.
Labubu is one character in Kasing Lung's THE MONSTERS family. Pop Mart names sets after the family, so nearly every one starts with "THE MONSTERS…" and only then gets to the actual series name. The pointy-toothed gremlin you're obsessed with is in there. It's just standing behind the family name.
Fine. Next question, and it's a slightly scarier one: how many sets has this lot actually put out?
So, how many sets?
I counted every set in the catalogue. The total is a bit much. The per-year view is where it gets properly alarming.
The early years are a trickle, one or two sets a year, tops. From 2024 it's a different animal: sets start landing like a subscription you forgot to cancel. And 2026 on its own, as I write this, is already more than a third of the whole lot.
So completing Labubu is fantasy. Not because you're skint. Because Pop Mart releases sets faster than any human can open boxes.
If you want to stick around in this hobby, you have to pick. The rest of this post is about picking without regret.
Figures, plush charms, mini cups… what's the difference?
This is why the number got so big.
A "series" is rarely just a set of figures any more. Take Hair Salon. One hairdresser theme, and out come a figure set, plush pendants, hanging charms, glow-in-the-dark fridge magnets, a scent spray, a display bag, and a mini Pop Bean version for good measure. Each one is its own set, with its own lineup and its own odds.
The upshot: figures, the thing everyone pictures when they say "collecting Labubu", are now outnumbered by stuff that dangles. Plush pendants, hanging charms, phone charms. Not even close.
So before you fall for a theme, ask yourself one thing: do I want this little menace standing on a shelf, or swinging off my backpack? Those two answers lead to completely different sets.
Secret odds: mostly 1/72, but some sets are kind and some are just rude
Honestly my favourite bit of the whole count.
1/301 series
1/481 series
1/541 series
1/7243 series
1/1084 series
1/1203 series
1/1447 series
1/1684 series
No secret1 series
That 1/72 bar towers over the rest. No mystery there: most Labubu sets are six-box sets, and whenever Pop Mart does a six-box set it prints 1/72. I explained the multiplication in the secret pull rates post, so I won't bore you twice.
Open the groups up and there's a surprisingly tidy pattern: the secret rate is nearly always 12 times the number of regular designs. Ten designs, 1/120. Twelve designs, 1/144. More designs, harder secret. That's genuinely all there is to it.
A few sets deserve a shout-out of their own.
The kind ones
POP BEAN Hair Salon tops the chart at 1/30. Mini stuff, loads of designs, and still a far easier secret than anything else in the family.
The Hair Salon display bag has just four designs and a 1/48 secret. Same formula, it's just a small set, so it really is easier.
The 10th Anniversary mini cup is the odd one. Same nine designs as the 10th Anniversary figures (1/108), yet the mini cup is only 1/54. Twice as easy. Same cast, different packaging. So if you love the anniversary lineup and your wallet is looking a bit thin, you know which one to grab.
The rude ones
Pin for Love. 1/168.
This set splits the alphabet in two, A–M and N–Z, and each half is its own 14-design set. Then it comes as a plush pendant and as a letter charm too. Split the alphabet, split your hopes and dreams.
Hunting the initial of your other half? Genuinely, good luck.
The two weirdos
Coca-Cola Vinyl Face has exactly two regular designs and still sits at 1/72. I flagged it in the pull rates post because it breaks the formula harder than anything else in the catalogue. Counted again. Still broken.
The Constellation zodiac key pendants go the other way: twelve star signs, zero secrets. Get all twelve and you're actually done. No sneaky hidden thirteenth waiting to mug you.
New to this? Which set should you start with?
I'm not going on who pulled what. Those stories are fun but they don't tell you much. The numbers tell you plenty.
Three questions, in this order:
- How many designs? A four-to-six design set finishes way faster than a twelve. Not twice as fast, more than that, because the last one is always the stubborn one. Every set page on the site already works out how many boxes you'll open on average to finish it, so have a look before you spend a penny.
- What are the secret odds? If you just want the regulars, this barely matters. If you live for the secret pull, pick something from the kind group above.
- Where will it live? Shelf means figures, bag means plush. Don't buy plush because it's easier to find and then leave it in a drawer.
My shout for beginners: pick the theme you love most, then grab the version of it with the fewest designs. Finishing one small set beats sitting on three big half-finished ones every time.
Where do I buy without getting stung by a fake?
Labubu is the most faked line out there, and it's not close. The fakes have their own nickname now.
I won't repeat it all here. These two posts are written exactly for that:
- Spotting a fake Pop Mart, and why checking the toy is the last line of defence, not the first.
- Where to buy Pop Mart, with seven questions to ask before you send any money.
Both charts in this post update themselves from the catalogue, so a new set changes the numbers. The words are what I wrote today. If Pop Mart gives Labubu a whole new family, I'll have to start counting from scratch.
Want every set in one place? It's all on the Labubu line page.
